Our flat is located in Rotherhithe, a very residential, quiet London enclave south of the Thames and directly across from Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs (London's newest skyscraper-filled Wall Street-type district).
Our complex is located adjacent to the Hilton Docklands Hotel, where a hotel ferry crosses the Thames River every 15 minutes. It's such a fun and easy trip to make that I try to find excuses to take the ferry a couple of times a month. In fact, there was one instance where John was at home and was able to capture me through his super-zoom lens from the balcony while I crossed over in the ferry (he even captured a RAINBOW, to boot)!
Other photos in this series show us cleaning the place up during the first week we moved in, and a fantastic race that brought dozens of different crew boats, kayaks and row boats to our doorstep one lazy Sunday afternoon.

Hi Mar! Love your blog and blogging. Have you posted the 12 slides of the race you described? I couldn't find them.
Thanks so much for describing aspects of your place/location/view/life in London. LJ's blog is all about his toys, just what you would expect from a man.
On the pics in and from your apartment, when I click on the thumbnails, I get a screen that looks like it was ready for the full size version but doesn't in fact show it. There is just a mottled white background. You might have your blogmaster do some repairs while it is still under warranty.
We miss you guys a bunch.
Love,
BJ
