Happy Thanksgiving (and Baba's Birthday) 2005!

Wow! It's absolutely crazy to think that it's Thanksgiving today!

It feels like it was just last week that John and I were walking around the city in shorts and flip-flops... and today I was bundled up in many layers, and sat through 5 straight hours of classes.

Seeing as we could not celebrate the holiday with our friends and family in the States, John and I will be having dinner with Hotta, her friend Dan and his wife Vivian. Dan was a food critic for New York's Daily News for years and is in charge of picking the restaurant for tonight! As his third cookbook is getting published in February 2006, I think it is safe to say we will be in good hands. He is really into "gastro-pubs" right now, so I'll report my findings after I've tried one out... apparently they are upscale, modern pubs with really great food made from local, fresh ingredients.

Speaking of fresh ingredients, boy will I miss my mom's Thanksgiving Day fusion menu! Turkey and pomegranates, anyone?!

And a special SPECIAL birthday wish to my dad, who turns 62 today. Have a fabulous birthday and know that I LOVE YOU BABA JAN!!

xo

Jensie! You're right to ask about school stuff! It's about time I wrote about school... :) I promise there will be school-related posts later this week.

How's YOUR program (or programme, as the English like to say)?

xoxo
