So, I am taking a very short break away from the editing suite to say that I am almost done with my first short film! And, oh, what a process it has been...
The last 5 days have been a blur: Beginning Saturday morning at 9am, I started spending too many waking minutes in our Macintosh G5 editing suites and with the help of a book, some nice neighbors and a lot of patience, have taught myself the basics of Final Cut Pro! It has been challenging and annoying to feel like I was reinventing the wheel every time I didn't know something and there was no "professional" to ask, but now that the film is almost complete, I am reveling in the glories of the learning process and the discipline that it took to get here.
Of course, it was all made easier with the help of other students in my course, as we have all been thrown into the proverbial pan together! Thanks to Sean for being an early riser, Nikos for knowing when to take coffee breaks, and everyone who popped in at some point or another throughout this past week!
And to think, this is only the beginning!

Thanks ladies!!! xxoo
It is really 97% done and I'm hoping to burn it to DVD tomorrow. Maybe I can figure out a way to transfer it over to NTSC (the US system) from PAL (the European system). Then I could send out little Christmas movies in the mail!
