Happy Holidays 2005!

What a wonderful holiday season it has been! This post is grossly overdue, I know...

Somehow the end of the school semester caught up with me, and it all turned into one big blur. My film was finished and handed in. Classmates and friends bgean to leave for their Christmas journeys back home. And John and I just smiled and stayed put!

This last week has been heavenly. We rediscovered the glories of going to our wonderful gym and even invested in a permanent locker there, so the 2006 gym season can involve less bag-carrying and more weight-lifting. Good times.

London's transport system basically shut down on Christmas Day, so previous plans to celebrate the holiday in Golder's Green with family friend Khaleh Parand and her two sons were somewhat spontaneously aborted, as we would have had to take a taxi there and back and pay the rough equivalent of one month's salary in some not-too-distant-country. We decided therefore to go food-shopping and shut ourselves in for the long haul, an idea that was both beautiful in theory and practice.

Our first London Christmas consisted of great food (how many meals DID we eat?), gift-giving. movie-watching and lots of quality talks and laughs. The Thames was unbelievably still all day, and we admired the local wildlife (aka the seagulls) take advantage of the peace and quiet during their day-long sunbaths on sandy shores.

Of course, I miss being around family and friends this season, but in my heart I know that we are all happily smiling in our little corners of the world and will be reunited soon enough. xo

Joy and love to everyone and see you in 2006!
