First "Assessed Report" Due February 20th

Topic: Academia (130 words, 1 comment)

Although I've been enjoying a very relaxed and merry holiday season, the truth is I have TONS of work to do in the weeks to come. The most important project I am currently working on is what the British system calls an "assessed report". Essentially, my entire grade for my Ethnographic Cinema Studies class is going to be based on a 5,000 word research paper due February 20. We were given the option of 6 or 7 topics, and I have chosen to study early and contemporary political cinema, which I know will provide lots of good viewing.

Showing on my home screen this week: The Battle of Algiers, Control Room, Farhenheit 911, Bowling for Columbine, Battleship Potemkin, Rome Open City and The War Room.

Can't wait to start tying these threads together! :) More soon...

happy new year, mar! i can't tell you how much my heart melted at the pics of you and john watching the snow fall. i wanted to say as well congrats on your internship. it sounds absolutely perfect for you! how's it going? are you loving it?!?

i've been rather quiet on my end because i've been crazy busy with classes this quarter ... the holiday was sweet but short indeed. i have a paper due every week, every other week it's two papers. i'm barely keeping afloat i feel, but this week seemed better because you were with me in spirit. i've been reading benjamin (and all about benjamin) so needless to say, potemkin is coming up quite a bit. oh how i wish we could get together for a bagel and talk about the political impact of montage!!

missing you as always, jensie
