Photo Time!

Have been back in London for 4 days and lucky enough to have lovely friends who are kindly housing me in my time of inbetween-ness. Looking for a new flat, finishing up a Masters film and organizing future plans (job, projects, etc) all at once has been a bit much at times, but they say that if it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger. Here's to that.

So, in the spirit of STRENGTH and positivity, I offer the first set of images from the India/Pakistan trip. I'll try to add context through he captions, so let's dive right in...

The Main Bazaar street in Delhi, taken from a rickshaw as we snaked our way to the train station. Our deluxe train cabin from Lahore to Pindi. Scenes from the train. It was Monsoon season and lagoons formed all along the way. I fell in love with the water buffalo!!
The two explorers in a taxi (traffic jam, really) on their way to the Pindi bus station. Seeing our goal in the distance... leaving the wet plains for the relative comfort of the mountains. Once on the bus, we followed the Indus River north for hours... We encountered landslides everywhere along the route.
Finally in Hunza Valley, taking in the sights. The area is surrounded by 7,000 meter mountains and also famous for its apricots, which they dry on rooftops throughout the village. This bridge was washed away by the high river levels just days before we arrived. Hiking to the top of Baltit Fort in Karimabad, with some local schoolkids. Old and new souvenirs from the region.
Apricots everywhere! Taking a second to relax before visiting the fort. Baltit Fort. Another view of the fort.
Me and our local guide Masood. What a cool dude he was!! I swear all this expedition stuff was rigorous!! This is just the calm before the storm... This is Mt. Rakaposhi, which sits grandly over Hunza valley .
These mini-Suzuki trucks were the main mode of transport in Karimabad (and I thought they were the coolest things ever). Hoping to bring one back to the UK and decorate it in true jingle-jangly style. See how tiny they are! And they're wrapped like birthday presents on the inside. Check out the cutting-edge stereo system.
Buying kerosene for our camping stove from the corner store (and keeping it in plastic soda bottles).
