The Flying Scotsman

I am in love. With a train. In fact, it's the train that I'm sitting in at the moment. It's name?

The Flying Scotsman.

It's 9:55am local time and I am sitting in the Quiet Coach of a GNER train to Edinburgh, Scotland. I have treated myself to a Wi-Fi subscription for the day (how can you resist riding up to Scotland and writing blog posts, checking email and having the world at your fingertips??).

Anyhow, Offscreen is facilitating a series of educational art workshops at the National Museum for the next few days and I was offered the opportunity to go with them. Yay for art! Yay for children! Yay for Edinburgh, a city I have been DYING to visit for ages...

But, before I can let loose and have bucketloads of fun, I need to start/finish my LAST essay for my MA. That's right folks, I have completed (a version of) my final film Road To Shimshal, which means that only 5,000 words separate me from the MA finish line. It's been such an amazing year here, full of twists and turns and travel and adventure... maybe after Friday's deadline, I'll be able to step back and really take it all in.

For now, I'm off to type as furiously as possible. 4 hours and 19 minutes until we arrive.

xx
