A Day to Remember

Topic: Thoughts (282 words, 1 image, 3 comments)

Lately, it seems that I have been away from my computer and website when it mattered most. The most glaring example would be John's 30th birthday (that was a tough one to not be able to publicly acknowledge), the Ironman UK (in the mountains of Pakistan for that one) or most recently, my little cousins' birthdays (Brian, Emma and Kelsey, I will make it up to you and I love you to bits!). It's not that I feel I have to make a big "web" deal about such events, but it's actually really fun to have a platform like this and use it to spread cheer instead of gloom! It's wonderful to share special events with a virtual community of linked human beings (in this case, linked because you all read this site from time to time)...

So, today, when I do find myself near my computer, I'd like to wish a very special someone a HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Andrew is his name and he is possibly one of the most unique individuals you could ever hope to meet (those of you who know him are nodding in agreement right now, I can see it!).

He's staggeringly brilliant, can charm the pants off anyone without wanting to (watching football and drinking tea with armed Kurds is a day in the life, really). He is the best artist I have ever seen with my own two eyes, has impeccable taste in most things ($100 chef's knife, Andrew? But it's a Wusthof!)... and the list goes on.

Truth be told, our years together helped shape me into the person I am today. So my friend Andrew, Rella, here's wishing you and yours a VERY HAPPY OCTOBER. ;)

This picture was taken by the lovely Polly, Andrew's grandmother. It captures him perfectly because he's so hard to capture!
