Glacier Walk and Laguna Esmeralda

The hotel's wireless has been down for a few days, and it is now a mad dash to check out, pack up and make it down to the ship in a few hours.

I cannot believe that I am actually going to board a vessel that will battle the roughest seas in the world. Today.

So many wonderful new friends and experiences to speak of. Please follow the story on the IAE5 expedition website, as there are funny videos and daily webcam messages.

Here are a few images from the trip so far... all in the Tierra del Fuego.

xxx and hoping for a relatively painless Drake Passage crossing. People say it's pretty intense.

My friend Tiffany and I on top of the Martial Glacier. The view was spectacular. Walking through wetlands to get to Laguna Esmeralda. Tiffany shows us her yoga moves in a spectacular setting.
What a team! These are the IAE5 girls (and Bogdan, our lovely sherpa).
